The Coates lab postdoc Tetsuto Miyashita traveled to Austin, TX for the annual meeting of the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB), where he delivered a talk “The evolutionary origin of the filter-feeding larval phase in lampreys.” When Chicago shivered in cold, Tetsuto and other UChicago participants enjoyed balmy weather and unapologetic Texas barbecues, and caught up with the hottest and coolest of biology.
