Seeing as the lab “rests on the foundations of Scotland’s fossils,” the Coates Lab celebrated Burns Night with a reading of “To A Mouse” accompanied by a skate tasting. Generously hosted at hagfish-in-training/postdoc Tetsuto Miyashita’s apartment, this gathering also celebrated the birthdays of lab members Vishruth Venkat and Abby Caron, who were told to “make a fish” upon blowing out the candles on their birthday cake.
